Sethupathy Government Arts College is located in Achunthanvayal, Madurai Road, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu – PIN 623502. It was established in 1965 (as per its own ‘About’ page) to provide higher education to rural and semi-urban students. The college is affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi. It offers undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com), postgraduate (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com) and research programmes (M.Phil) across Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The campus is well-equipped with facilities such as hostel accommodation for both boys & girls, library, laboratories, computer centre, sports and cafeteria.

Government Arts College for Women is the leading higher education institution for women of Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi. It was established in 1994 in an area of 3.75 acres to empower women through education with its Endeavour for a system incorporating the ethos of Indian culture and personality development of each stakeholder. The college was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University till 1994-2007 and from then on, it has been affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi. The Ultimate goal of the institution is to flash the torch to sensitize the women from the deprived sections of the society and support them with an education that hones life skills and ensures employability. This institution has been the advocate to enable the young women of this locale to keep their feet on ground to march on the path of improvement. This college started with 3 UG courses Commerce, Computer Science and Home Science in the year of 1994 and Electronics in 1995-1996. Then gradually other UG and PG courses have been introduced to attain a number of 8 UG and 2 PG courses at present. The college has two shifts, forenoon and afternoon to cater to the needs of students.

Founded in 1988, the college is located in Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu and is affiliated with Alagappa University, Karaikudi. It is an autonomous women’s institution, aimed especially at uplifting women from rural and minority communities through higher education. The college has been accredited with an “A” grade by NAAC (with a CGPA of 3.16) and is recognized under UGC 2(f)/12(B). Offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes across Arts, Commerce, Science and Technology streams.

Established in 2007 under the management of the Capuchin Friars Minor Society. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. Offers full-time 3-year diploma programmes in engineering streams: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdulkalam, Government Arts and Science college , Rameswaram was established in the year 2019 as per G.O.M.S. No.126 Edn Dated :08.07.2019 of Tamilnadu. Initially three arts courses and two science courses were started in 2019-2020. B.A. Tamil, B.A. English Literature , B.Com. B.Sc, Mathematics, B.Sc. Computer Science were started in the year 2019-20.
